Demag Cylindrical Rotor Motors

The high performance characteristics and application design expertise which has been responsible for the success of the Demag Conical Rotor Brake Motor have been integrated into our Demag Cylindrical Rotor Motors (type Z) for general purpose applications. This design has been optimized for use in combination with Demag Gearmotor System gearboxes. These Cylindrical Rotor Motors are constructed in a variety of single and two-speed configurations.

This same motor is used in the new Demag“Indrive” Variable Speed Gearmotor. The Cylindrical Rotor Motors are available in IEC frame sizes 63 through 225; and horsepower ranging from fractional to 60 hp under continuous-duty conditions. An integrated internal flywheel design is available for travel applications requiring soft start/stop characteristics. Frame sizes 63 through 132 are highquality die cast aluminum alloy construction for high stability and light weight, while frame sizes 160 and above are cast iron construction.

Demag Cylindrical Rotor Brake Motors
For general purpose braking applications, the new Demag Cylindrical Rotor Motors are available with double surface disk brakes which are spring applied, magnetically released. Various electronic control modules are available to regulate the engagement and release of the brake. There is a standard brake for each frame size, with a smaller and a larger brake available to meet application requirements. If additional brake torque adjustments are required, they can be accomplished by using various brake spring combinations. Demag Cylindrical Rotor Motors are available in the same frame sizes, pole variations, soft start options, output ratings and frame construction materials as the nonbraking Cylindrical Rotor Motors.
